6/9: All Saturdays.

You guys! We're on the move.

After saying a sad goodbye to many wonderful students who are moving on to bigger things, Mattie and I finished packing up the truck (Radio Flyer) and left town.

Leaving the coast is hard, but being on the road cures most things, and our sadness was left behind somewhere on the 101 between Santa Ynez and SLO. We spent a couple great days with Yeti and Dad while the truck was tuned up. Which means: The best blueberry pancakes ever from scratch! Poirot! Pizza! Walks! Hanging out and doing a lot of nothing! Picking out super carrot seeds (they must be separated from the wiener seeds) with Yeti to make the garden of world domination!

Here are some pictures:

About to leave to head north. Saying bye to Dad.
He always waves from the sidewalk until the car is out of sight.
We left SLO on Friday for the long drive north then east to Reno, where we're spending the week before going to the Laughing Places around Lee Vining. It's been great spending time with the gang up here. The first day I got to spend some time with all of the crazy kids, who were happy to get a delivery of Grandpa's famous cookies:

Monsters.
Then Greg and I headed out for a night of camping, wine, swimming, football, and fishing on the shores of Pyramid Lake with Scott and Laura. There was also an infamous game of Head's Up, which I'm afraid I will never live down. Seriously, how do you act out "quail"?

Pyramid Lake Camping!
And the rest of the time, we've been climbing (Shadow Boulder, I missed you!), eating great food (a PB & J Bacon Burger at Stonehouse is a real thing, and it is amazing), getting pumped up for World Cup, and trying not to melt in this heat. I'm not going to say that Reno is my favorite place, but there are a lot of great things in striking distance.

I'm in the process of making a movie of our first week of summer, so keep an eye out for some sweet slow-mo Mattie footage...

With love from what is technically the east side (I guess?), but doesn't really count as the east side,
