6/7/2017 - FINALLY BACK!

Well, after nearly a year break Mattie and I are back for summer 2017 and are going to start updating the blog again! This is going to be the quickest recap ever.

The three biggest pieces of news (which you all know) are:

(1) Greg and I are engaged (woooo)
(2) We bought a cabin that we love in Aspendell
(3) Mattie Mae is still hanging out and kicking butt! She's one happy, hilarious old lady, and we love every second with her!

Here are some pictures just to get the blog rolling again, from a few winter cabin trips and the past couple weeks since summer started:

THE CABIN! During a big winter, March 2017.

Taken looking out our back window.
The wind whips around our cabin so fast it creates this berm.

Greg in the backyard.
Those tracks are from our moonlit snowshoe adventure the night before.

Yeti got us a cuckoo clock!
We absolutely love it.
It is really similar to the old clock in the Idyllwild cabin.
We dance when it goes off.

Greg cutting steps into the snow wall to get into our cabin.

Sid and Anni on a sledding day at Intake II!

Dad, Yeti, Sid and Anni sledding adventure in Aspendell.

Greg putting up our cabin address numbers and sign :)

We carved out a sweet sled run in the back yard.
It had banks and everything.

Me, Dad, Anni, Yeti, Sid, Mattie and Greg after a great week at the cabin.

We've had some great visits from friends and family!
Scott, Laura, Sid, Anni, Aidan and Emme came up for a weekend.
Fishing, walking, adventuring, BBQing, etc.

The kids at Lake Sabrina.

A Greg and his BBQ in the backyard.

Basically what it's all about (except it's missing Mattie...)

We celebrate Greg's b-day with a We Toss 'Em They're Awesome Pizza!

And did some fun, beautiful climbing in the Buttermilks.

We've been making friends with the locals...

That dark spot on the central snowfield is our friend Beary II!

Greg's parents (Nancy and Bob) came for a visit and some adventuring!

Friends came to visit, too.
Milo, Bobby, Greg, Sara and Sam bring the sass.

And again at a still frozen-over South Lake.

We've been exploring the old mining roads - here, to the south above Aspendell.

That's all for the summary!
I'll be back at it with more posts this summer.

Love, Allison and Mattie the Ultranapping Dog
