First, here are a few pictures from the last couple of months:

He still thinks Anni is his nemesis, so they probably won't be meeting for a while.
But he did great with his two youngest friends yet!
We played games on the deck.
And a lot of Jenga.
And Spoons - which Sidney has greatly improved at.
In July we went to Ray and Katie's wedding and had an awesome time dancing and hanging out with family below Mount Si. And of course watched the Women's National Team absolutely own the World Cup, including watching the final at a tiny old theatre in North Bend, WA.
We came back and were so happy to see Teddy, who had been staying in Aspendell with his best friends Elliot and Khora the Husky. Then, the day after we returned, Elliot left to meet Julie in Europe for a 3-week adventure, so we got to hang out with Khora for the rest of July!
Teddy was in absolute heaven.
He also convinced Greg that he needs a puppy friend to play with at all times.
It's been a bit over a week since Julie and Elliot came to get Khora after flying back from Ireland, and Teddy has been throwing a real temper tantrum about it ever since. Every day he finds everything shreddable in the wood pile and shreds it. Then we get yelled at. Then he shreds more things. Poor guy really misses having a buddy he can bite faces with all day long! Hopefully he settles down soon, and thank goodness we'll be back to living right next to Khora in just a month. Yeesh.
Beary the Bear (a real bear, very different from Beary the Pig, which is a pig skull we found in the Owens Valley that we initially thought was a bear skull) has been coming by and we've caught her a few times on our trail cam!
Here you can kind of see her inspecting our dumpster. She's giant (also, maybe a he? We don't know). Like the size of the dumpster. She's been coming by a lot of nights, so hopefully we'll get some better footage soon. Other animals we've caught on camera: two house cats in the middle of the night (weird), coyotes (yoders), mice, and a wren who kicked over the camera. We love trail cam, it's like Christmas every morning when we open the videos up.
It has been a beautiful and WARM summer up here - thank goodness we're at 8,500 feet, because it's cooking in the valley. Not many thunderstorms this year, but our flowers are still doing pretty well with the exception of a russian sage that Teddy decided needed to be torn out of the ground earlier this summer. That one is still struggling to get it together. Lots of shasta daisies, apricot mallow, lupine, and the butterfly bushes are just starting to bloom! We'll get some pictures to post soon.
And our big update - we're in the middle of remodeling the downstairs bathroom! I just finished putting in the tile yesterday, and Greg has been ultimate construction warrior doing all the electrical stuff, and pretty much everything else (new walls, taking out walls, deconstruction, etc etc.). I've tried to make up for my lack of constructions skills by contributing a lot of shopping and interior design ideas. Hopefully we'll be done with it in the next few weeks, it's looking awesome so far!
Greg is out fishing, I'm working on putting together a data analysis workshop that I'm teaching in a couple of weeks, and Teddyhoula is sleeping soundly on the couch. We've been having a mellow summer in terms of hiking (oh my god the mosquitoes this year...), but have been having fun up here all the time and enjoying a relaxing July. Summer is always amazing.
Off to do some digital artwork (I have more work for designs & logos than I can keep up with, which is really awesome), then make some brownies because it's a Friday in summertime!
