TWO POSTS IN TWO DAYS. GET REAL.
Mattie and I had a little breakfast in Markleeville yesterday, then headed up to Hope/Charity Valleys for some painting and stuff. We camped right on the edge of a great meadow with mountain views, did a short sketch, started reading "A River Runs Through It," and went on a little hike around the meadow then up into the hills for sunset views.
We ate some cheese sandwiches and bananas for dinner (Mattie mostly had cheese), and the sunset was awesome.
We slept out under a million trillion stars, watched for satellites and shooting stars for a while, got scared by (probably) bears roaming around the valley a few times - which Mattie bravely scared off with some warning growls and barks, and woke up early this morning both with awesome camping hair. Mattie's won.

Then we headed east, stopped for breakfast at the Carson River, made a video to say "hi" to all of our friends, and are now getting hot chocolate in Markleeville and trying to figure out what to do with our lives today. Not bad.
We're safe, happy, relaxed, and looking forward to another night in the Carson/Toiyabe wilderness.

Perhaps your doje thinks that it is hearing a bebe' in the woods.
ReplyDeleteOf course, on the other hand one must realistically consider the possibility that your doje is so retarded that it may not know the difference between a bear and a bebe'.
ReplyDeleteBut the most unbelievable event of the century occurred yesterday when the wild Y saw real Humpback whales (3)at Port San Luis, and they (the whalies) were not scared away. Talk about the dogs being mad!
ReplyDeleteJesus. This is an awesome series of comments. Thanks Yeti and Dad! The humpbacks at Port San Luis were big news! That's awesome. Mattie and I are just headed back up to Hope Valley. We just spent two nights around South Lake Tahoe, but there are too many people there, so that's about all we could take. The car still isn't fixed...looks like maybe by tomorrow? We'll see. For now we're happy to be around Monitor Pass/Hope Valley still. I miss you guys! Love Al & Mattie
